About Sunset Park

Sunset Park is a rich and diverse community located in the Brooklyn neighborhood of New York with a number of features suitable for visitors and residents, including a park, a variety of shops and restaurants, and multiple places to worship.

Locals of Sunset Park flock all year round to the 25 acre park of the same name. Amazing views of the lush, green hillsides of both Staten Island and New Jersey, the beautiful skyline of Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty are awaiting visitors who reach the highest point of the park. The park also offers the use of a pool in the summertime, including swim lessons, adult swim time and a children's pool. In the colder months, an indoor recreation center provides access to computers, a library, a dance room and an exercise facility. A unique feature of Sunset Park is the Memorial Grove, which served as the first memorial of its kind to remember the lives lost on September 11.

Because of the diversity of the population living in Sunset Park, the neighborhood boasts a variety of ethnic restaurants to try. With over 200 options and choices ranging from Indian to Chinese to Italian, anyone will be able to find something they love to eat. For someone looking for traditional New York food, Sunset Park has a bagel shop open 24 hours, pizza places and delis. Because of the variety, Sunset Park is a great place for both families and late night revelers.

Sunset Park is full of local businesses and small, family-owned stores, making it the perfect place to browse and shop for anything at all. Whether looking for comic books, electronics, old records, unique jewelry or art, Sunset Park will have something to offer. For locals, the convenience of wholesale stores, such as Costco, along with local pharmacies, grocery stores and flower shops, provide the necessities in their own neighborhood.
